Employment Assistance, Education and Assistive Technology
The NEAT Center's programs for people with intellectual disabilities is available to both children and adults. Expert staff are available to conduct thorough assessments to identify each individual's most challenging tasks in their home and in their workplace. Within our Center, we offer:
Employment Assistance
Designed to help adults with intellectual disabilities find job opportunities, prepare for different careers, develop interview skills and coordinate transportation.
Device Instruction
Training on the use of magnification devices, demonstrations of adaptive equipment and software designed especailly for people with intellectual disabilities. Training is also available to employers who work with these individuals.
Computer Instruction
Instruction on common office programs with special attention on "accessibility" features.
On-site Assessments
For homes and workplaces. NEAT staff will identify your unique living and working setups and provide assistive technology recommendations to maximize productivity and independence.
