What is assistive technology?

Assistive Technology (AT) refers to devices and services that are used to increase, maintain or improve a person’s ability to function.

What services do you provide at The NEAT Center at Oak Hill?

The NEAT Center at Oak Hill provides:

  • A place to learn about products and equipment that assist people with day-to-day activities they have trouble doing for themselves, either because of a temporary or permanent disability or because of the effects of aging
  • A place to donate or buy durable medical equipment
  • Professional development in assistive technology, school-based training and technical assistance
  • AT consultations and evaluations
  • And many more services

Where is The NEAT Center at Oak Hill?

Our Equipment Restoration Center (ERC) currently operates several satellite locations throughout the state.

Can I donate my gently used durable medical equipment and will you come pick it up?

NEAT’s Equipment Restoration Center is closed to the public, starting June 8, 2018 for inventory and building maintenance. At this time, we are not accepting any donations.  Stay tuned for information about our re-opening and a new list of items we accept for donation.

Who should use the services provided by the NEAT Center at Oak Hill?

People of all ages whether their disability is temporary or caused by a permanent condition or disease, can benefit from our services. The NEAT Center also supports their families and the professionals who work with them.

Did you once go by the name, the NEAT Marketplace?

Yes. In 2007, we changed our name to the NEAT Center at Oak Hill. We’re a program of Oak Hill, recognized disability leader in Connecticut since 1893; a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.
