Assistive Technology Services

Click the topics below to read more about the AT Services we offer.

AT Consultations

Consultations are conducted by highly qualified, NEAT professionals.  These consultations help individuals, families, employers and/or schools determine the technology needs of an individual with disabilities or provide suggestions on how to use available technologies. Consultations can be used to provide suggestions of technology supports as well as help teams develop a framework for considering AT; conduct specific assistive technology trials; examine outcomes of trials and incorporate AT into the IEP or support plan; equip educators and/or teams with the knowledge and skills to address the AT needs of the individuals they are working with.

Consultations typically last 1-2 hours and require the individual and/or staff to be present, as consultations do not yield written reports or written recommendations. If the team would like to request a brief, written summary of the consultation findings, an additional fee will be included.  This is different from a full Evaluation, as there is not a review of records or a development of an individual profile within the written summary.

Consultation Fees:

Neat Members - $150 per hour

Non-Members - $200 per hour

Travel not included

AT Evaluations

Evaluations are conducted by highly qualified, NEAT professionals.  These evaluations help individuals, families, employers and/or schools determine the technology needs of an individual with disabilities. The evaluation process is guided by a review of records, intake form, conversations with educators, support staff, clinicians, family members and the individual, as well as environmental observations and trials with various technology supports.

This process provides the AT Specialist with a complete individual profile and identifies learning modalities, personal preferences, a pattern of strengths and weaknesses in performance, and assistive technology supports that can be utilized within the targeted skill sets.  Lastly, an evaluation will provide a formal, written report with recommendations regarding the technology that will meet the specific needs of the individual.  The report is completed within 4-6 weeks and is intended to identify tools and supports, but more importantly describe how these supports can be implemented for meaningful access and participation.  If requested, the NEAT staff can be available to report the evaluation findings at a team meeting or PPT.

Evaluation Fees:

Neat Members - $2,000

Non-Members - $2,250

Disability Awareness Stations

Disability Awareness Stations  |  “Day in the Life"

These Assistive Technology Stations are conducted by highly qualified, AT professionals at the NEAT Center.  Many people are sometimes fearful about how to engage people with disabilities; they are uncertain of how to interact without being offensive or discriminatory so they end up avoiding them.  Through this interactive and practical workshop, NEAT would like to equip participants with disability awareness training.  They will learn about the current state of assistive technology for people with a wide variety of disabilities and have hands-on opportunities to explore various technologies for home, school, workplace and community needs.  This workshop is fantastic for upper elementary and high school field trips as well as college courses, parent support groups, school districts, human service professionals, and/or workplace awareness, etc.
