Services for Autism and Asperger's Syndrome Autism

Oak Hill offers a variety of services to help individuals with Autism (which includes Asperger's Syndrome). Autism is a complex developmental disorder that appears in the first three years of life, although it is sometimes diagnosed much later.

AutismIt affects the brain's normal development of social and communication skills, social interaction, interests, imagination and activities and varies from person to person. Our programs address all of these developmental issues and help people with autism live fulfilling lives as independently as possible.

Oak Hill continues to expand its services to people with autism spectrum disorder. It's philosophy remains constant – people with disabilities have the right and capability to be contributing, productive members of their communities.

Through referrals from the State Department of Developmental Services Oak Hill is able to provide children and adults with a primary intellectual disability diagnosis and a secondary diagnosis of autism, services within our community-based housing, education and day programs; individual and family supports; and also our relationship & sexuality education.

Our Programs

Our programs for children and adults with Autism focus on enabling individuals to live as independently as possible. We offer specialized housing, workplace training, assistive technology, social skill development, community integration, in home services, behavioral intervention and respite care.
